SINGAPORE — The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced the names of the 10 stations on the East Coast stretch of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) and Downtown Line 3 Extension (DTL3e), after a public poll on the preferred names.
On August 15, 2014, the LTA announced that the southern end of the Thomson Line which serves the North South corridor will be extended eastwords to form the new TEL MRT line. In Singapore, the proximity to an MRT station helps to sell properties. The 13km East coast stretch will bring MRT travel to areas not currently served by the MRT system and increased connectivity to the East will be brought about by a 2.2km, 2-station extension of the Downtown Line (DTL) to join DTL To TEL. Here are some points about TEL:
"Many studies have shown the positive impact on prices for houses within proximity to new public transportation, most notably metro systems, tram, suburban railway and bus stations," according to the latest Knight Frank report on the impact of transport corridors and urban mass transit systems on house prices.
In Singapore, Stages 2 and 3 of the Downtown MRT Line have led to value enhancements of private non-landed residential developments around future stations.
Plans for the new mixed-use complex at Singapore’s international airport have been unveiled.
Against an increasingly competitive landscape, where airports around the world are actively growing their ‘destination appeal’, Project Jewel sets in motion plans to boost Singapore’s Changi Airport as an air hub of choice for travellers. As it stands, transit passengers make up about a third of the airport’s air hub traffic.
SINGAPORE: Human resource experts have said that Singaporeans could expect up to 1,000 new jobs with the development of Project Jewel at Changi Airport.
The opportunities would include areas in retail, food and beverage, as well as shopping mall and facilities management.
