New platform, track for Tanah Merah MRT station in 2024

The new platform will cater to trains heading to Pasir Ris, which leaves the two middle tracks dedicated for trains travelling to and from Changi Airport.

SINGAPORE: By 2024, commuters can expect faster MRT travel to the Singapore Expo and Changi Airport. That's because a new platform will be added to the Tanah Merah MRT station, giving it three platforms and four tracks in total. Enhancement works will start in 2016. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) revealed these plans in a media briefing on Monday (Aug 25).

FCT to acquire Changi City Point

MAINBOARD-LISTED Frasers Centrepoint Trust (FCT) has entered into a conditional sale-and-purchase agreement to acquire City Point mall for a purchase consideration of $305 million.

The announcement came yesterday from Frasers Centrepoint Asset Management (FCAM), the manager of the trust.

The acquisition was negotiated on an arm's-length basis between FCAM, on behalf of the trustee of FCT, and the vendor, Ascendas Frasers.

Ascendas Frasers is a 50-50 joint-venture between FCT's sponsor, Frasers Centrepoint Limited, and Ascendas Development.

JP Morgan to up property footprint here significant

[SINGAPORE] Bucking the slow pace of office leasing by financial institutions here, JP Morgan is said to be boosting its real estate footprint by around 40 per cent. The bank, which operates out of Capital Tower on Robinson Road, will do a front end-back end split.

When contacted, JP Morgan's chief administrative officer for Singapore, Paul Echart, confirmed that the bank would operate out of two locations - Capital Tower and One@Changi City - from the fourth quarter.
