The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has sold a residential site in Woodlands Avenue 5 as part of Government Land Sales (GLS) in 2nd quarter of 2013.  This land parcel is set in the North Region of Singapore, bounded by Woodlands Ave 5, Woodlands Ave 6. With 100 hectares of land for development, bigger than the Gardens by the Bay at 60ha, WRC is to stretch from the north coast fronting the Strait of Johor to the centre of Woodlands. It will have two distinct precincts, with the first being the Woodlands North Coast which covers an area of 70 hectares between Republic Polytechnic and Woodlands Waterfront slated to be developed into a lush waterfront environment with a mix of residential, commercial and lifestyle uses. 

The other precinct would be Woodlands Central where a 30 hectares area around Woodlands MRT station and Causeway Point mall. It is planned to be a commercial centre and a pedestrian-friendly retail hub. 

Firms are expected to provide jobs in the north that complement labour-intensive industries across the Causeway. With the intense development of Iskandar just across the border, more jobs are expected to be created within the northern part of Singapore.  

The Rapid Transit Link with Johor Bahru opens up

another platform of cross-border connection.

THE NORTHERN GATEWAY TO MALAYSIA. 

The new coming intergrated CIQ complex will be located North of Woodlands MRT Station with the Northern terminus of the Thomson MRT Line. Together with JB Sentral, they will act as the link of Rapid Transit System (RTS), adding better connectivity between Malaysia and Singapore.
