DEVELOPER- EL DEVELOPMENT

EL Development began operations in 2005 as the property division of Evan Lim & Co. ─ one of Singapore’s leading builders. In late 2006, it achieved success in its first high-end residential project, Rhapsody on Mount Elizabeth, with the project selling out in merely six weeks. In early 2007, the company launched its first industrial development, Nordix, a multi-user strata titled terrace factories in Woodlands, and also achieved excellent results with the project sold out within two months.

As the unit grew in stature, the management decided that there was a need to create a recognisable branding to focus on the property segment. Hence, in 2007, the division was incorporated as a new company but remained a wholly owned subsidiary of Evan Lim & Co. The intention behind the move was to groom a real estate arm to tap into Singapore’s booming property market while providing an internal demand for the parent company’s construction services. EL Development grew rapidly and eventually emerged as an independent company in 2011.

In its earlier years, EL Development developed boutique projects comprising less than 100 units such as Rhapsody on Mount Elizabeth (32 units), Illuminaire On Devonshire (72 units) and Nordix (34 units). Now, the company has moved on to manage larger projects such as La Fiesta, a 810-unit condominium development; Trivelis, a 888-unit DBSS (develop, design and sell scheme) public housing development; and Eldix, a 168-unit ramp-up industrial development. EL Development has grown from contributing a mere 10% to more than 75% of contract value secured by the construction business. Its annualised turnover has also increased from S$50 million to more than S$200 million.

EL Development aspires to be a household name in property development and extend its footprint beyond Singapore, building an international portfolio of award-winning projects in the process to raise the status of the company as a premium property developer.

2006 – Acquired first residential site via enbloc sales in Mount Elizabeth (developed 32-units of the high-end residential apartment, Rhapsody on Mount Elizabeth)
2007 – Incorporated as EL Development Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Evan Lim & Co. Pte Ltd
2007- Acquired first residential land site via government land sales in Rosewood Drive (developed first mass market condominium project, Rosewood Suites)
2009 – Launched and sold out Illuminaire on Devonshire, a high-end residential development with a mechanical car park block in three days
2011 – EL Development Pte Ltd spun off as an independent company
2011 – Acquired first public housing (DBSS) site via government land sales in Clementi (developed Trivelis,a public housing development that comprises three blocks of 40 stories and 888 units).
2012 – Acquired largest residential site to date via government land sales in Sengkang (developed La Fiesta, a condominium development comprising 13 blocks of 15 storeys and 810 units).
