Condo site near Dempsey Hill and Rochester at Margaret Drive

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has a residential site in Margaret Drive, Commonwealth Avenue as part of Government Land Sales GLS. This land parcel is located in Commonwealth Avenue, Margaret Drive, Central Region of Singapore, under Queenstown Planning Area. It is listed under reserved list of sites and is allocated to be developed into a residential condominium. It has a site area of 51,772 square feet of land and is expected to house approximately 275 apartments units.

Top bid for private home site in Queenstown

SINGAPORE: A private residential site at Dundee Road next to Queenstown MRT station received nine bids from developers at the close of tender yesterday (23 Jun).

The 99 year leasehold site has a site area of 113,194 sq ft and could house around 645 residential units.

Resale market for Tanglin Halt hotting up

Housing Board flats in Tanglin Halt are hitting the resale market and starting to fetch premiums after June's announcement that the estate will be redeveloped.

At least two units have been sold since then, with more than 30 listed on property websites.

Such flats are attractive because their owners will eventually be offered brand new units at five sites in the nearby Dawson estate in Queenstown under the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (Sers).

Queenstown rolls out heritage plan

QUEENSTOWN has unveiled a five-year plan to protect its heritage, becoming the first estate here to clearly outline its preservation efforts.

The plan will seek to not only conserve sites in Singapore's first satellite estate, but also connect the present with the past with a $2 million museum by 2020 and a festival once every two years.

A highlight of its ambition is a network of galleries, heritage corners and markers to be rolled out across various parts of Queenstown by next year.

HDB will build five new public housing projects at Dawson estate in Queenstown, under the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS) programme.

According to National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan in a blog post today, these new flats will provide new homes for Tanglin Halt residents, many of whom have been living there for more than 50 years.

"They will get a new modern flat with a fresh 99-year lease, with greenery at their doorstep, and panoramic views of the city and surrounding areas," he wrote.

Brisk sales at Commonwealth Towers on Day 1

Commonwealth Towers, Hong Leong Holdings' high-rise condominium project, took off on its first day of sales yesterday. As at 8pm yesterday, out of the 300 units initially launched, 175 units had been snapped up, with more than 100 buyers in the process of having options issued.

In view of the demand, developers extended yesterday's sales hours and added another 100 units to the launch, said Betsy Chng, head of sales and marketing at Hong Leong Holdings. The units are priced between $1,635 per square foot (psf) for a one-bedroom apartment to $1,690 psf for a four-bedroom unit. The strong sales followed the keen initial interest the project drew on its first-day preview on April 13. More than 1,500 people visited the showflat, prompting Hong Leong to extend the preview time by two hours.
